Kanye West’s Donda Academy Sued Over Sushi-Only Lunch Policy

Kanye West’s private Christian school, Donda Academy, is facing a lawsuit over allegations that the school only served students sushi for lunch. Two former teachers have filed the lawsuit, claiming wrongful termination and discrimination [1][2].

According to the lawsuit, students were only fed one meal of sushi per day, with West allegedly paying $10,000 each week to cover the cost of the meals [1]. The suit also states that students were not allowed to bring any outside food or drinks other than water to the school. Moreover, the sushi was allegedly consumed while sitting on the floor, without the use of tables or chairs [6].

In addition to the sushi-related allegations, the lawsuit filed by the former teachers accuses Donda Academy of fostering a chaotic environment rife with bullying, health, and safety violations [3]. The teachers claim they were fired for voicing their concerns about these issues and allege that their race played a role in their termination [7].

Donda Academy has previously faced scrutiny and controversy. The school temporarily closed its doors during the 2022-23 school year [5], and a video of students singing at an assembly sparked concerns about the school’s practices [9]. Despite these setbacks, the academy reportedly intends to reopen in September 2023 [10].

As the lawsuit progresses, it remains to be seen how these allegations will impact the future of Kanye West’s Donda Academy.
