Fugitive Thabo Bester’s Lover Allegedly Stole Three Bodies Prior to Daring Escape

Convicted rapist and murderer Thabo Bester and his partner Dr. Nandipha Magudumana have been arrested in Tanzania[1]. South African Justice Minister Ronald Lamola confirmed their arrest. Bester, who escaped from prison on 3 May 2022, had been running a scam construction company called Arum Properties with celebrity doctor Nandipha Magudumana[1]. The couple convinced several people to pay millions of rand for construction projects, but never delivered the goods.

Thabo Bester, also known as the “Facebook Rapist,” became infamous in 2011 when he was convicted on two counts of rape in Durban[3]. In a daring escape plan, Bester faked his own death by “burning” in his prison cell and successfully escaped from the Mangaung Correctional Centre[5].

Dr. Nandipha Magudumana allegedly stole three unidentified bodies from Free State mortuaries weeks before Bester’s escape[9]. The two fugitives were eventually captured and arrested in Tanzania, near the Kenyan border[4].
